Annual Awards Banquet
The Annual CBN-NV Catholic Schools / Business Partnership Awards Banquet gives recognition to teachers, businesses, organizations and individuals who exemplify the principles of CBN-NV.Each year the Catholic schools in the Diocese of Arlington are asked to nominate teachers, businesses, organizations, and individuals who have supported Catholic education and their school in exceptional ways. CBN-NV then honors these nominees. Business, organization, and individual Volunteer Nomination Forms are available in the list below. The funds raised from sponsorships and the silent auction are used to assist the Office of Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Arlington. The funds are used for in-services training, the inclusion of technology in the classroom, individual awards, and high school scholarships via the CBN-NV Educational Endowment Fund under the Arlington Diocese Educational Foundation. More than 700 pastors, principals, teachers, business people and supporters of Catholic education attend this yearly event. Since 1996, over $300,000 has been raised by these banquets. The Annual Awards Banquet in 2009 was held on Sunday, March 21, at the McLean Hilton. A reception and silent auction began at 5:30 p.m., followed by dinner, entertainment, and the awards presentation. This banquet honored 4 teachers, 7 Businesses, 3 Organizations, and 68 Individuals for their support of Catholic Schools in the Arlington Diocese. Through the generosity of Sponsors, Patrons, Donors, and Well-Wishers, the 2010 Banquet contributed $15,000 to the Arlington Diocese Office of Catholic Schools for teacher training and four $1,000 scholarships to worthy high school students. Through the generosity of BB&T, the CBN-NV presented four “Distinguished Teacher” Awards; each winner received a $1,000 cash award and each school received $500.
